Events
Here is an outline of some typical GCCG events to give you a flavour of the different type of GCCG events.
A regularly updated full list of this year's events is available to Members in the Members Area. This includes all booking information,
contacts and location details. Members also receive a monthly e-newsletter with latest news of events.
The GCCG held nearly 40 events in the UK 2012. Many events involve scenic drives that allow members to be passengers in others’
cars. The most memorable on the south coast was Rita and Pieter’s Bank Holiday Treater where we drove 90 miles along the A272,
which is something of an anachronistic timewarp. It runs almost exclusively single carriageway for its entire course and is a
largely undeveloped rural cross-country route that still passes through pretty town and village centres.
Over in Wales a visit to the National botanic Gardens was enjoyed despite the weather. Way up in Scotland several members went
along to the Powderham Historic vehicle gathering. Twenty members attended both the Austin Morris day at Brooklands and the Ford
national at Beaulieu. In the Midlands at the annual BMC and BL rally in Peterborough, we had a stand in the winners enclosure and
displayed 33 cars. A first for the GCCG was the well attended classic-car-fix-it-session held in Essex.
Various historic properties across the country were visited including Homewood in Surrey, Hughenden Manor and Broughton House
in the Midlands. Several weekend long trips included a weekend in the lake district, Easter weekend near Paris, and 10 days in
northern Spain. And finally, to expand our repertoire, 40 members enjoyed a day out on a 1963 AEC double decker bus.

join an event as a guest. We also have monthly social nights in several areas - contact your local GCCG representative for details.
